General Questions I have a stone that I would like to have engraved, can you do that? We certainly can, if you can get the stone to our shop we can engrave, it either by shipping, or if you are local, you can drop it off to our shop. Please keep in mind though that not all surfaces can be engraved well, in order to engrave a stone it needs to be relatively flat, though it does not need to be completely smooth either. If you could e-mail a picture to sales@modlichs.com with what you would like to have engraved and approximate dimensions of the stone, we would be happy to let you know if it can be done and what it would cost.
Do you offer installation services? We do offer installation in the Central Ohio area. Outside of Ohio we typically do not offer installation, though we are happy to work with your contractors to ensure the proper installation of our products.
How long does it take to have my engraving project completed? The turnaround time varies depending on the requirements and complexity of each individual project. Small projects can sometimes be completed in as little as 3-4 weeks, while larger projects requiring custom fabrication of materials, complex engraving and detailed design features can require 6 months to a year or more. Once you have an idea of your project features we will be happy to estimate a production time for you.
Granite & Memorial Questions Can we use <xxxxx> color material for our project? We are capable of engraving many types and colors of stone, though not all of these lend themselves to engraving well. Some materials produce an engraving that is very difficult to see without the use of paint, which will eventually fade. If you are in the design phase of your project please contact us regarding your material selection. We have over 70 years of engraving experience that tells us which materials are ideal for engraving, as well as materials that will yield less than desirable results. We would be happy to share that information to help you make an informed decision on material for your project.
What is the maximum size material you can handle? How big of a piece of material can you find? Actually the largest limitation is the size of the material from the stone quarries. If you are looking for a large scale project, we can find a way to engrave the stone.
What is the minimum size material you can engrave? The minimum size really depends on what you want to have engraved. If you are looking for a simple graphic on a smooth surface, we are capable of engraving pieces as small as the palm of your hand. If you are looking for text or other graphics, please let us know what your are looking for and we can let you know what size material would be needed to accomodate your design.

We will design the engraving for your stone in our state-of-the-art CAD system, and then we will send you an image of exactly what will be engraved via e-mail or fax for your approval before any actual engraving takes place.
